What is a Unique BodyPrint™?

A Unique BodyPrint is the most accurate assessment of your body measurements available to consumers today. Unlike the variations that can occur with a measuring tape, our Intellifit body measurement systems use laser and radio wave technology to scan your body at 200,000 measurement points. We use this data to create custom-fit clothing and other personalized products - each unique to your body.

What is the Intellifit Virtual Fitting Room?

The Intellifit Virtual Fitting Room (or VFR as we call it around here) sends safe, low power radio waves toward your fully-clothed body and, in about 20 seconds, collects thousands of data points. This information is used to accurately calculate your body measurements.

What is the Intellifit Plus?

The Intellifit Plus uses structured red light (lasers) to scan the surface of the body. From this scan a 3D point cloud representation of the body is developed consisting of over 200,000 points. In 30 seconds you have your set of measurements that we call your "Unique BodyPrint".

How do I get my Unique BodyPrint?

Using software developed by Unique Solutions the point cloud is processed through a body measurement system (BMS) that automatically detects locations on the body and then calculates the measurements. These measurements and health risk factors are then compiled in a report.

Where can I get my Unique BodyPrint?

You can get your Unique BodyPrint from any of your Unique Boutique's around North America. We also tour our mobile Intellifit units throughout North America. Use our Request Form in the Contact Us section to request for the scanner to come to your community. Click here for a list of Unique Boutique locations.

Is the process dangerous?

No, the scan process is not harmful to your health.

The Intellifit Plus uses class 1 lasers, meeting all the UL, CE and FCC tests. Our lasers meet FDA approval and are not as strong as those used at your regular grocery store checkout.

The Intellifit VFR uses low power radio waves, which send signals that reflect off of your skin to obtain the measurements. The signals are similar to cell phone signals but less than 1/1000th of the power of those signals, and do not penetrate the skin.

How do I prepare for my scan?

Intellifit Plus: You will be required to undress to your undergarments in a private changing area. Please wear light or neutral colored undergarments. Do NOT wear black or dark-colored undergarments. In order for the Intellifit™ to capture accurate measurements all clients are asked to undress to their undergarments and wear a hair cover to minimize the volume of hair. Doing so insures that no extra volume will be added to the body scanner's calculations.

Intellifit Virtual Fitting Room: There is no preparation required for the Intellifit VFR. You remain fully clothed through the entire process.

How accurate is the Intellifit measurement process?

The measurements from the Intellifit Plus are accurate to within 1/16th of an inch. The measurements from the Intellifit VFR are accurate within 1 cm.

Does the Intellifit take a picture of my body?

No, the technology does not use photographic or x-ray technology.

How long does it take to get fitted and place an order?

Getting your Unique BodyPrint only takes 30 seconds. You will then be able to place your order online through our secure web portal. Placing an order can be done in the Unique Boutique where you created your BodyPrint, or online at home.

What are the benefits of getting a BodyPrint?

Getting a BodyPrint will take the frustration and guesswork out of finding the right fit. You'll spend less time in fitting rooms, and you'll have fewer returns because something didn't fit.

You receive a BodyPrint report that captures an accurate, objective reading of measurements. You can use this print out of measurements for comparative analysis in a Health and Wellness program as well as for creating custom apparel.

What sizes do you fit?

Thanks to our custom made apparel partners we are able to offer clothing to fit any size. We also have an array custom fit partners who offer a wide range of sizes, so you are sure to find the right fit.

How much does custom clothing cost?

At Unique we not only feel that everyone should have clothes that fit them perfectly, we also feel you shouldn't have to pay a fortune for them. That's why our partners offer custom made and custom fit clothing at prices comparable to off the rack. Our custom made apparel typically ranges in price from $89 - $159 for custom shirts, $145-$185 for custom jeans, to $199-$339 for custom dresses. Keep in mind that prices can vary depending on fabric choice, style and finishing touches.

How long does it take to receive my order?

Generally, orders take 3 to 6 weeks to arrive depending on which partner you have ordered from.

Do you use my measurement information for any other purpose?

Your privacy is our priority. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information.

Do you host events at your locations?

Yes, we definitely host events. We have monthly corporate events and weekly private in-store events. We can host a Girls' Night Out with a Design your Jeans party to a Corporate Wellness event with a guest Fitness speaker.

What about the guys?

We have a great selection of custom clothing for men as well. So if you're a guy or know a guy who hates to shop or try on clothes then this is the right place for you. Once you get your Unique BodyPrint you can order on-line and never have to go shopping or try on clothes again.

Once you have my measurements, can I order on-line?

Yes! Imagine never having to visit a store again! You can order custom made clothes from any of our partners. Your information is stored on our secure server and just by logging in to your account and clicking through to one of our partners websites you have ordering capabilities at your fingertips. You will be able to order custom made and ready made (off the rack) garments that will fit.

 

I have been a client of Unique Patterns for many years and you have my manual measurements on file. Will my membership stay the same?

Definitely yes! Your measurements remain on file and are accessible for you to continue to purchase patterns - Unique Patterns values your continued patronage! One note - please ensure that you are using the website address of www.uniquepatterns.com. If you have the www.uniquescan.com or www.uniqueboutique.com address saved in your "Bookmarks" or "Favorites", please ensure that this is updated.

I purchased a scan recently and want to use my scanned measurements to purchase patterns. How can I do this?

If you obtained a scan since January 2008, you may use your scanned measurements to purchase patterns from Unique Patterns. To do so, follow the guidelines below:

  • 1. Log into www.uniqueboutique.com with your User Name and Password (set up when you purchased your scan)
  • 2. Click on Shop Now.
  • 3. Click on Unique Patterns
  • 4. If prompted, agree to share your measurements with Unique Patterns and click 'Sign me up'
Please note - there may be a delay of up to 6 hours for your measurements to be updated on your Unique Patterns profile.

I purchased a scan some time ago. Can I still order patterns with my scanned measurements?

You may still order patterns via www.uniquepatterns.com with your scanned measurements, however if they are more than 12 months old, it is suggested that they be updated. Our technology has been continually enhanced and improved since you obtained your scan and in order to be most accurate we recommend a re-scan. Visit www.uniqueboutique.com/get-scanned for a possible location near you. If you are not able to obtain a re-scan based on your geographical location, you may update your measurements manually by contacting Unique Patterns Client Services at 1-800-543-4739.

I was scanned years ago and my scan didn't work. Why should I get another?

Since our first bodyscanner was launched back in 2002 there have been major changes and updates to our scanner and our software, which is why we are now able to extend our product offerings to include not just patterns but other custom products and services as well. A new scan will not only provide more accurate measurements to create custom patterns from, but will also allow you to purchase from any number of our partners to enjoy custom fit apparel unique to your body shape and size. If I get a re-scan to update my measurements will it automatically update my measurements on www.uniquepatterns.com?

To protect your privacy we do not share your measurement data with any of our partners unless you give your permission. So as with the rest of our partners, every time you have a re-scan you will need to agree to share your new measurements with each partner from whom you wish to purchase. To do so, follow the steps that were outlined.

How can I see what products your partners offer?

In order to purchase partner products, you must have obtained a scan, user name and password for the www.uniqueboutique.com site. This allows us to target the appropriate partners for your profile and share your personal measurements with our partner teams.

I'm confused by all the "Unique" names? Can you clarify?

  • Unique Patterns is the original company offering made-to-fit patterns for your hard-to-fit body. Visit www.uniquepatterns.com for more information. It is currently a partner of Unique Solutions, a separate business entity, and is under new management.
  • Unique Solutions is our newest company offering increasingly enhanced body measurement technology via our Bodyscanner. The bodyscanners are now located in Unique Boutiques throughout the US and Canada where you can obtain your scan and begin to shop with a variety of partners (including Unique Patterns).
